New York Times writer Christopher McDougall demonstrates a lost running technique from the 1800s called the 100-up. Watch the demonstration here.
Participants are tested on their strength, stamina and agility as they navigate a scenic route through Victoria Park.
Victoria Park is a gem in the heart of Truro – a natural woodland park of roughly 1000 acres in the centre of town. Lepper Brook, with its two sets of waterfalls, flows through a steep tree-covered rocky gorge. The park’s trails and waterfalls have been protected for all to enjoy since 1887.
Several trails follow along the brook allowing a close view of this unique setting. Beyond this area is the natural parkland with its rustic walking paths along the top ridges of the gorge, all leading to the falls. Victoria Park’s extensive trail system is built for visitors to use and enjoy and all trails are designated as multiple-use.
